Hello and welcome to another posting of
Conbrio Online (the Latest News
for the City Of Burnie Brass Band). Think of this as an
online version of Conbrio (the official newsletter for
the City Of Burnie Brass Band). This page endeavours to keep
all band members and other interested parties posted on all the
latest goings on for the band, so be sure to check it now and
again to make sure you are up to date. In addition band members
should also continue to check the White boards in the band room
for upcoming playouts and events.
The first item on the agenda is to bring to your attention
some changes to the web site. The URL of
http://cityofburniebrassband.com
has been officially registered for a yearly charge of around
$11. However the website is still being hosted for free by
WEBNG and the old address of
http://cityofburniebrassband.webng.com
is still valid. You would have noticed there have been
changes to the home page which now features a picture of the
band room mural (painted by Damian Rossiter) up the top.
Also there have been slight alterations to the Frank
Scolyer, Media, Archives,
Links, and Contact us
pages. The Archives
page now features a tribute to Ted Bentley
using information contributed by Jenita Lusted. Jenita also
appears to have some involvment in a new facebook site
dedicated to the band which you should be able to find with
a simple search. If not then try this link
http://www.facebook.com/pages/City-Of-Burnie-Brass-Band/124024960951599 If you have any ideas on ways to improve
this site or
extra features that could be included then
contact us with your
suggestions.
At the moment the band is practising hard for the up coming
Celtic Force concerts in both Launceston
and Burnie and watch out for the Sea Sunday
service coming up on July 11th at the St Georges church.
News Updates:
* The band is about to purchase a new Euphonium
for a price of around $4,500. It is believed that
Treasurer Jenny Watts will bring it back from Adelaide
sometime in the next month or so.
* A note for band members involved in Celtic Force. Once
again there will be morning rehearsals on both concert days.
So be at both the Launceston Princess Theatre on July 3rd
and at the
Burnie Arts & Function
Centre on July 24th ready to rehearse at 10:00AM in
the morning.
