Royce Reid
was an important figure in the
history of the city of Burnie Brass
Band, as well as being a significant
fuigure in the Burnie business
community, running his own
transportation business.Royce Reid
was the President of the band from
1984 to 1987. He was made a life
member in 1984 and was bandsman of
the year in both 1984 and 1987.Royce
was responsible for recruiting a
large number of juniors into the
band and helped with both their
training as well as providing much
encouragement to them. |
Ted Bentley
(1929-2008)

Ted Bentley
was also a pivotal figure in the
history of the city of Burnie Brass
Band, and his time as Principal of
The Burnie College of TAFE, couple
with business ventures mad e him a
significant figure in the Burnie
community as well.When declining
health finally forced him to retire
from the band in 2006, a large
concert was held in his honour at
the Burnie St. Georges churcg,
combining both the Burnie and
Ulverstone bands.The PDF file below

as well as tributes to the
achievements of both Ted abd wife
Louisa Bentley (who died
December 19th, 2014). |
